Opening of the Year of the Family in an online meeting

"Our daily love": This is the name of the online event organized for March 19 by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, the Diocese of Rome and the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute to open the year dedicated to the family on the occasion of the fifth anniversary from the Amoris Laetitia publication.
It is the beginning of a journey more than a celebration: the apostolic exhortation, according to the promoters, has in fact a wealth yet to be discovered and the act of March 19 - which will be broadcast on the Internet on the channels of the three institutions - represents a call for future work.
"The Pope's provocation wants to set the whole Church in motion," explain the organizers, who intend to offer a contribution capable of uniting pastoral care and theology for the World Meeting of Families scheduled in Rome for June 2022.
The event on March 19 is divided into two online moments open to everyone: at 3:00 p.m. (On the fifth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia) and at 4:30 p.m. (Theological Perspectives) broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Juan Pablo II Institute and on the platforms of the three promoters.
In the first moment, which will culminate with a message from Pope Francis, will participate Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Vicar of the Pope for the Diocese of Rome and the Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute, with interventions by Pierangelo Sequeri, President of the Institute, and Giuseppina De Simone and Franco Miano, who participated in the Synods on the family.
The second part of the afternoon will have a more academic character and will feature interventions -coordinated by the theologian Giovanni Cesare Pagazzi- of Nuria Calduch-Benages, from the Gregorian University, Antonio Pitta, from the Lateran University, Vincenzo Rosito, from the Juan Institute Paul II, and Mons. Darío Gervasi, auxiliary bishop of Rome and delegate for family pastoral care.
The year dedicated to the family on the fifth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia was convened by Pope Francis on December 27, 2020 to ripen the fruits of the post-synodal apostolic exhortation and make the Church closer to families around the world, put tested this past year by the pandemic.
The year, coordinated by the Dicastery, will conclude on June 26, 2022, with the tenth World Meeting of Families. The reflections that will mature will be made available to ecclesial communities and families, to accompany them on their journey.
“The alliance of man and woman, which encompasses history and the human condition - Pierangelo Sequeri explained - pivots on the family, but goes beyond its family grammar: the Christian vocation is to bring this alliance to the places of politics , the economy, law, care and culture ”.
