Pope Francis appointed Núria Calduch on Tuesday as the new secretary of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, the Vatican body founded by Leo XIII in 1902 to promote the study of the Holy Scriptures, contrast erroneous opinions about them and illuminate the debate on biblical questions.
