In a time often marked by a "culture of forgetting," where everything moves at a frantic pace and the virtual attempts to replace the real, our shared vocation stands as a beacon of light, restoring our roots, our identity, and the tangible expression of God's love for us. Today, the entire Church gives thanks for our dedication and for the charism with which we safeguard the mystery of following and proclaiming Christ in Nazareth.

Looking back on this significant day, the command from Deuteronomy resonates powerfully in our hearts: «"Remember," "don't forget"». Celebrating our founding is not simply an exercise in nostalgia; it is understanding that To inhabit memory is to make ourselves present. It is returning with gratitude to our origins, recognizing that every step in our history, every desert overcome, and every blessing received has not been the result of our own human strength alone, but a free gift of God's love. Let us not forget the Lord's faithfulness, which has sustained us as pilgrims of hope in grace!

An urgent call to the Incarnation and charity

Today, this "making ourselves present" takes on a face of urgency and pain. We cannot dwell in memory with our eyes closed to reality. This week, Venezuela has been shaken by devastating earthquakes that have left a truly dramatic situation. The suffering of so many brothers and sisters, stripped of everything, once again tests our commitment and directly challenges us. Nazareth suffers again today in the Venezuelan people, and it is there that our generous, compassionate, and deeply committed response is needed more than ever.

Faced with this harsh reality, we renew these three invitations to walk in trust:

Let us live from grateful memory: Let us not allow routine to harden our hearts or turn the gift into habit. Let us savor, assimilate, and embody the life of Christ in Nazareth. Let us allow this food not only to sustain us, but to consume us, making us new and more human each day, educating us in communion with the Lord, in charity, and in conversion.

Let's walk with our eyes on the goal: Faced with the risks of the world's immediacy and superficiality, Jesus calls us to the concrete, to assimilate his life through the joyful and generous self-giving that generates true life.
