Seven years to achieve a sustainable lifestyle."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the close of the year <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laudato si &#039;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, celebrated on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the encyclical, Pope Francis launches the <\/span><b>Laudato Si &#039;Platform<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><b>PALS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/f6c_7ADEQhY\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presentation video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it states: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&quot;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we need a new ecological approach that transforms the way we inhabit the world, our lifestyles, our relationship with the Earth&#039;s resources and, in general, our way of seeing man and living life<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. In fact, it underlines that we need a comprehensive human ecology &quot;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that involves not only environmental issues but man as a whole<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&quot;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the conference dedicated to the conclusion of the Special Year <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laudato Si &#039;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Cardinal Peter A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development, presented the platform for the next seven years with activities to continue and concretize the message of the Encyclical in the local Churches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seven objectives of PALS were presented:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Answer to the Cry of the Earth,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Answer to the Cry of the Poor,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Ecological Economy,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Adoption of Simple Lifestyles,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ecological Education,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ecological Spirituality and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Involvement and Participatory Action of the Community.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first year will be devoted to the three fundamental tasks of community building, sharing of resources, and drafting concrete action plans for the realization of the seven objectives of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laudato si &#039;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This will be followed by five years of concrete action. The last year will be the sabbatical year to praise and thank God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A nine-language website for PALS has also been published and can be accessed through the new Vatican website. <\/span><a href=\"about:blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.laudatosi.va<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Platform for Action shows that the Church is advancing in building the future better than <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laudato si &#039;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> calls us to build.
